Our Code of Professional Conduct

  1. The services we provide to our clients shall be of the highest standard. In our work, we adhere to the highest standards of professionalism. All communications shall be honest in terms of content, truthful and accurate.
  2. Our employees shall maintain honesty and integrity in relations with the media, authorities, and the public. Our employees shall not try to influence the media, the public opinion or government institutions in an inappropriate way. In our work, we shall practice openness and full transparency.
  3. Our employees must be honest and reliable. No one may spread false or misleading information. No one may make unsubstantiated statements or comparisons, or take responsibility for ideas or words that are not theirs.
  4. Our employees shall maintain integrity in relations with their former or current employers/clients, colleagues and other professionals. Our employees may not slander their colleagues, deliberately put them in a bad light, or ruin their professional reputation. Everyone must understand, respect and honor the codes of conduct of other professionals they may deal with.
  5. Our employees have the right to refuse to work on a project if it conflicts with their own values or beliefs, without worrying about their current position or future career at Hill & Knowlton.
  6. Our employees must not represent contradicting or competing interests without the express consent of the interested parties granted after the full disclosure of the facts.
  7. Our employees may not personally accept any fees, commission, gifts or any remuneration from anyone except the employers or clients for whom their services were provided. Payments and remuneration may only come from the client that the work was done for.
  8. The spirit and letter of any regulations shall be adhered to. All laws, safety regulations, lobbying regulations, codes and regulations pertaining to human rights as well as to communications, for example copyright laws, shall be obeyed.
  9. Our employees shall not seek personal benefits for themselves and for others that might result from possessing confidential information gained in the course of their work. Our employees must not pass on confidential information for stock market trading purposes, use it for profit or for the benefit of a competitor of the company they work for, or act to the detriment of that organization in any other way. Such information must remain confidential during and after the employment at Hill & Knowlton.
  10. All employees shall maintain honest and decent relations with each other. We shall all respect our needs regarding the exchange of opinions, solving problems and communicating issues that apply to each of us and the company as a whole.
